Michael D White & Co LLP are one of Inishowen’s best known and longest established legal firms having marked its 80th year in existence in 2008.
The firm moved to custom built Offices at Carndonagh Business Centre, off Station Road, Carndonagh in 2009, having spent the previous 40 years at it premises at Chapel Street.
The practice was founded by the late M.D. White following his qualification as a solicitor in 1928.
It is run today by his son Philip White and Philip’s wife Ruth McGartoll. Both Philip and Ruth qualified as solicitors in 1983.
Its founding member was a well known figure throughout Inishowen and beyond. He was a prominent member of both Ballyliffin and Greencastle Golf Clubs, having been one of the founders of the Ballyliffin Club and, in his latter years, a Trustee of both clubs.
Born in 1906, Mr. White also served as a deputy coroner for Inishowen before his death in 1992 and was at one stage the oldest practicing solicitor in Donegal.
Both Philip and his brother Michael qualified as Solicitors. Michael having started his legal career in Carndonagh later went on to establish a successful practice in Dublin before being appointed as one of the first solicitor judges to the Circuit Court.
Philip started his legal career in Dublin before returning to join the growing practice of Michael D. White & Co LLP which has grown over the years to provide a broad range of legal services to its ever expanding client base.
